Choices of Accessories for MP3 Players

Cashing in on the increasing prominence of MP3 players, a whole new sub-industry has mushroomed that offers all types of MP3 accessories. Regardless of the type of player you own, you will find all kinds of extras that will suit it. Not all these accessories are useful however; some of them are merely decorative add-ons.

Apple iPod, one of the leaders in this industry, has launched the largest number of accessories in the market. Several of these accessories are manufactured by the company itself, whereas other accessories are marketed by aftermarket companies.

One of the most basic accessories is a holding case for your MP3 player. These cases give the player protection against scratches and other miscellaneous damage. Considering these cases extend your MP3 player's life, they can be thought of as quite a good investment. Besides being an investment, these cases, which are available in every color imaginable, add a decorative element as well.

Portable audio players can be easily played at home as well. All you need to do is buy a speaker system, connect it to the MP3 player via dock, which is built-in and that's it.

Your speaker system can also be expanded into an all-out home entertainment system. You can buy an assortment of accessories including cassette decks, record players, CD players or FM stereo and attach them to your MP3 player. If you have an MP3 that is capable of playing back video, you can even watch movies by connecting it to your TV set.

There are also several wired as well as wireless remote controls available for MP3 players. These can be especially convenient when you are driving as you can make whatever adjustments you want to with out looking away from the road. Some of the more clever remote controls can be connected to the steering wheel so you can easily fast forward to the next song, browse through all your music and adjust the volume while driving.

Remote controls are especially useful for people who attach their MP3 player to their belt or strap it on an armband. The remote control can be conveniently stored in their purse or pocket for quick and easy access for changing songs or adjusting the volume. Remotes that have displays allow users to easily pick and choose songs by their name.

If you tend to drive a lot, you can even get yourself an adapter, which enables you to play your MP3 music through the audio system of the car. There are two types of adaptors available- the cassette adaptor and the FM radio transmitter.

Most MP3 players can be connected to the computer with a cable and an AC adapter, which now come as standard features. Both these features can be combined together in a docking station, which is then attached to your computer permanently. The MP3 player is then simply plugged into the docking station and your music collection can be synchronized while the battery is getting recharged.
